Skittles Challenge 2011

Ms. Winston's 2nd Grade Class would like to know what color
appears most in a regular bag of Skittles. We would love for you
to aid us in this investigation!
Project Directions:
Have
students work in groups (I will have 7 groups with 3-4 students
each).
Give
each group a 2.17oz. pack of Skittles and a Recording Sheet.
Each
group with sort and record the number of Skittles per color.
Looking
at all the data, count of the number of skittles per color.
Determine which color is most common.
Submit
the Skittle Challenge Sheet via email to
jessica_winston@ccpsnet.net between
April 4th -
April 22nd.
A total of 25 classrooms
participated. The results are listed below.

close behind!

*There is also a Skittles Math available
here
that I will have my students
complete along with this challenge. It does require them to
estimate the amount of skittles there is in the bag before
starting. * |
